In 2024, three members of our team climbed Mount Snowdon to raise funds for Our Space. Now, we’re taking it up a notch.
On 6th September 2026, seven of us will abseil for the very first time. We will be taking part in the abseil off Millers Dale Bridge in the Peak District, 90ft above the ground.
Ann McCabe Solicitors have supported Our Space since the firm was established in 2016. We’re both celebrating our 10th anniversary, first marked by a sparkling charity ball at The Hilton, Festival Park, and now by dropping down almost 100ft.
Our Space is a charity providing unique social and recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. They offer a range of exciting opportunities for all age groups from their specialist facility, The Brook Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The Charity itself provides invaluable support and has regular family sessions, discos and other activities for service users.
There are seven members of Ann McCabe Solicitors taking part in the abseil, and they have each said a few words about why they are taking on the challenge.
Jemma Wentworth – “This charity is close to all our hearts and raising funds for it makes us extremely proud to be a part of it. None of the team have done anything like this before so it is exciting to be doing this with friends. I’ve jumped out of a plane and climbed Snowdon so feel like this is the next experience!”
Daniel Webb – “I’ve not abseiled before. It will be great to do it with friends and for a worthwhile cause that helps a lot of people.”
Sammi Lindop – “It’s a charity that is close to my heart and I feel that they need support to continue to offer the invaluable facilities that they do for children and adults with additional needs. Events like this are a brilliant way to experience new things whilst raising necessary funds for a good cause. Our Space heavily rely upon charitable donations and every penny counts. ”
Zuleika Rehman – “Our Space is an amazing charity that facilitates safe play and support for children and adults with additional needs but also their families. It is essential to a lot of people who would otherwise struggle without. Any donations are massively appreciated as it costs £140,000 a year for Our Space to maintain their services.”
Chloe Legge – “It’s an amazing charity that deserves more recognition and support. The facilities and space it provides to children and adults with additional needs is unlike anything else. It provides families with a safe space.”
Nino Tsintsadze – “Our Space supports vulnerable people who need it most. It is important to raise money for charities such as this to provide the necessary support that families and individuals need.”
Adele Baskerville – “Stepping over the edge and taking on this abseil will certainly push me out of my comfort zone, but it is nothing compared to the challenges faced by the people Our Space charity supports every day. By participating in this event, I hope to make a positive contribution and help ensure that the charity can continue its invaluable work.”
